Spectral properties of a non-compact operator in ecology

چکیده

Ecologists have recently used integral projection models (IPMs) to study fish and other animals which continue grow throughout their lives. Such cannot shrink, since they bony skeletons; a mathematical consequence of this is that the kernel operator T unbounded, not compact. To our knowledge, all theoretical work done on IPMs has assumed compact, in particular bounded kernel. A priori, it unclear whether these an asymptotic growth rate $$\lambda $$ , or stable-stage distribution $$\psi . In case compact operator, quantities are its spectral radius associated eigenvector, respectively. Under biologically reasonable assumptions, we prove non-compact operators share some important traits with counterparts: unique positive eigenvector corresponding strictly greater than supremum modulus values, for any nonnegative initial population $$\varphi _0$$ there $$c>0$$ such $$T^n\varphi _0/\lambda ^n \rightarrow c \cdot \psi

Spectral Properties of the Ruelle Operator on the Walters Class over Compact Spaces

Recently the Ruelle-Perron-Fröbenius theorem was proved for Hölder potentials defined on the symbolic space Ω = MN, where (the alphabet) M is any compact metric space. In this paper, we extend this theorem to the Walters space W (Ω), in similar general alphabets. We also describe in detail an abstract procedure to obtain the Fréchetanalyticity of the Ruelle operator under quite general conditio...

features of short story in translated and non-translated literature: a polysystemic perspective

Some properties of a general integral operator

In this paper‎, ‎we consider a general integral operator $G_n(z).$ The main object of the present paper is to study some properties of this integral operator on the classes $mathcal{S}^{*}(alpha),$ $mathcal{K}(alpha),$ $mathcal{M}(beta),$ $mathcal{N}(beta)$ and $mathcal{KD}(mu,beta).$‎

Spectral properties of the squeeze operator

We show that a single-mode squeeze operator S(z) being an unitary operator with a purely continuous spectrum gives rise to a family of discrete real generalized eigenvalues. These eigenvalues are closely related to the spectral properties of S(z) and the corresponding generalized eigenvectors may be interpreted as resonant states well known in the scattering theory. It turns out that these stat...

Spectral density of the non-backtracking operator

The non-backtracking operator was recently shown to provide a significant improvement when used for spectral clustering of sparse networks. In this paper we analyze its spectral density on large random sparse graphs using a mapping to the correlation functions of a certain interacting quantum disordered system on the graph. On sparse, tree-like graphs, this can be solved efficiently by the cavi...
